Cincinnati Academy (CTEC)


The Cincinnati Academy is located in the heart of the Midwest and conveniently located near two major airports. Less than 30 minutes drive from the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport, and less than an hour from the Dayton International Airport. Ongoing courses are conducted from three state-of-the-art facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio.

General Information
This information will help you during your stay at the Customer Technical Education Center (CTEC). If you have questions that are not answered here or contact the training program coordinator on 717-447-1231.

Class Times
Classes begin at 8:15 AM, Monday and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Tuesday - Friday.

Student Badges
On your first day of class, you will receive a badge, which must be worn at all times while you are on GE property. The badge will allow you to travel unescorted to your classroom, the cafeteria, restrooms. Travel to other parts of the building or other GE locations requires a GE escort. On your last day of class, it is important that you return your badge and the plastic badge holder to the Security Officer in the front lobby.

Cameras
Cameras, video recorders and audio recording devices are not allowed.

Food Services
A hot or cold lunch can be purchased at the CTEC cafeteria from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Vending machines are located in the break area adjacent to the cafeteria. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the premises of any GEAE facility.

Cell Phones
You will be asked to either turn off or mute your cell phone during class.  The accepting of and sending calls is strictly at the discretion of the instructor and will only be granted in cases of dire emergency

From Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport
  • Start out going NORTH on LOOMIS RD toward BARKLEY DR.
  • Turn RIGHT onto DONALDSON RD / KY-236 E.
  • Merge onto KY-212 N via the ramp on the LEFT toward I-275 / CINCINNATI / I-75 / I-71.
  • Merge onto I-275 E toward I-71 / CINCINNATI / I-75 / LEXINGTON / LOUISVILLE.
  • Merge onto I-75 N via EXIT 84 toward CINCINNATI.
  • Take the SHARON RD exit- EXIT 15- toward GLENDALE.
  • Turn LEFT onto E SHARON RD.
  • Turn RIGHT onto CONGRESS AVE / OH-747. Continue to follow OH-747.
  • Turn LEFT onto MERCHANT ST.

From Dayton International Airport
  • Start out going NORTHWEST toward TERMINAL DR.
  • Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto TERMINAL DR.
  • TERMINAL DR becomes DAYTON INTL AIRPORT ACCESS RD.
  • Merge onto I-70 E via the exit on the LEFT toward COLUMBUS.
  • Merge onto I-75 S via EXIT 33A toward DAYTON.
  • Merge onto I-275 W via EXIT 16 toward I-74 / INDIANAPOLIS.
  • Merge onto PRINCETON PIKE / OH-747 S via EXIT 42A toward SPRINGDALE / GLENDALE.
